My Story
Many of us will witness the support and care that is provided by Hospices throughout the UK during some of the most 'gut wrenching & agonising' times. The final weeks of my sisters life was such an occasion and I was helped through the distress of the situation when I saw the care and attention Diane was receiving. 'Nothing is ever too great' for the people they look after and this is an immense help when coming to terms with a loved one moving on. Hospices rely on all the charity and donations they can get, and I initially wanted to raise money for the St Margaret's Hospice Somerset. However I realised it would be better to raise money for Help the Hospices who distribute grants and assistance to hospices throughout the UK. For those of you that have not had the misfortune of being in this situation, please think about donating for others and I hope your luck continues. For those that can sympathise with me, this is your chance to give something back.
Recently I started road cycling for a bit of fun and fitness, and took the decision to try and raise awareness and donations for Help the Hospices by completing some very tough and demanding events throughout this year. Adding a further challenge to this itinerary, I will also be competing in a half Marathon. Now I was never designed for long distance running as anyone witnessing me jog around the local village can testify, so this will be the crowning event of the years achievements.
All the events I am entering are paid for by myself, and you can keep up to date with these events and how I get on using the tabs above. I am using just giving as an easy method for people to donate, and don't forget if you are a UK taxpayer then they will also claim back more to be donated. So feel for me, and all those that have gone through times of sorrow, and give generously.
Lastly I would like to thank all the people that have given generously in these hard times, and thank my friends, family and the staff at Help the Hospices that have assisted me with my Endeavours.
